After the morning free practice with dry track conditions, rain has arrived on the Phillip Island circuit making the track completely wet for today’s second session. Sylvain Guintoli, Alice Team Rider, has registered the thirteenth fastest lap time on dry track and the seventh with wet surface confirming his abilities with slippery track condition. His teammate didn’t make go too well during the first session concluding in eighteenth position, but he made it to improve in the afternoon obtaining the ninth position. Tomorrow the sun should shine on the Phillip Island circuit allowing the Alice Team to prepare its Ducati Desmosedici GP8 Sat at the best for Sunday afternoon race.

“In general today has been a good day for us. This morning we have obtained the thirteenth position, but a part Stoner and Rossi that have a good advantage, we are really close to the other riders in front of us. The most important thing is that Sylvain made it to reach a good rhythm straight away in the first few laps. In the afternoon, with wet track, we have tried different tyres to find the best solution possible in case we will have rain also during the race. Sylvain, as usual, has registered very good lap times under the rain and we are really happy about it.”

“Today’s rhythm has been really good with wet and dry track. This is a really positive sign for us that guarantee us to be able to be competitive during the race whatever weather conditions we will find. During the afternoon session we have tried various technical solutions to improve our performances with wet track finding interesting solutions. We only need to improve the traction and then we will be at the best.”

“This morning I wasn’t really happy about the tyres. I couldn’t find any tyre that could give me the right confidence to push at the maximum. I am not pessimist but it’s the truth. This has been a big handicap for us. On the wet things went a bit better and we obtained a good result. I still need more feeling in the second sector where I am too slow, but for the rest I can consider my self satisfied.”
