After the first intense day of work yesterday, this morning’s third session saw the chance to put in a better performance, despite the fact that grip conditions were still not at the maximum level. Because of this, lap-times were higher than the previous day, but the JiR Team Scot rider Andrea Dovizioso was able to do better than Friday, showing overall the good job done by the team. In the afternoon during qualifying Andrea was able to ride to a quicker pace, one similar to the leaders in race configuration and with an improved personal best lap time. We expect an interesting race tomorrow and the JiR team is looking forward to a good result.

“In these two days, the team has shown the capability to react fast to all the input that our rider is giving. Andrea was doing some very good lap times today and he also did well in qualifying. I think that tomorrow we can make a good race and hopefully climb the championship ranking still further. We start from the third row but it’s not difficult for Andrea to be strong from the first lap as we have seen in previous races.”

“We did much better today and I was able to constantly lap with the pace in the low 1’ 43” bracket which allows me to stay with the leaders. This is why I think that tomorrow we will have a good race as the small troubles I had with the front-end of the bike have been reduced. I think the people who will be competitive in the race will be Pedrosa, Rossi and Stoner up front. On the other hand some other riders who did well in qualifying today may not be so competitive in the race. Tomorrow the tyre choice is important according to the temperature and the overall weather conditions. In fact, what has been apparent over the last two days is how the conditions can change the grip levels so much. I’m very satisfied with our performance even on qualifying tyres and at least I can now say that I’ve made a step forward. In tomorrow morning’s warm-up we may make some small adjustments to make further improvements.”

“After a first day in which Andrea explained that it was difficult for him to handle the front-end of the bike, we have worked together to solve the problem and this allows us to run with lap times in race configuration which make us think positive thoughts for tomorrow’s race. We did better in qualifying too today although we still have room to improve. During warm-up we have just some small things to do and this work will be done according to the weather conditions.”
