CHRIS VERMEULEN stunned crowds and silenced critics on his way to his first race win at a rain-soaked Le Mans Moto Grand Prix. The Aussie bagged Suzuki’s first MotoGP four-stroke win with an almost faultless ride.
Vermeulen beat Melandri - last year’s winner - and championship leader, Casey Stoner. Stoner bagged third on his Ducati extending his lead at the top of the world championship standings to 21 points over Rossi at the same time proving that his Ducati package has what it takes to do the business, even on the tighter European circuits.
