Difficult day for the Alice Team riders Toni Elias and Sylvain Guintoli. At the end of the first free practice the duo were respectively in sixteenth and eighteenth position, making it to improve a little in the second session concluded in fifteenth and sixteenth position. Toni Elias doesn’t make it to find the best feeling with the rear tyre, which is part of the same family of the one used in Phillip Island only two weeks ago, while Guintoli will try a different front tyre that should allow him to make a good improvement. In today’s second session a light shower has wetted the Sepang circuit and it could happen the same also in the next two days seen the unpredictable weather conditions of this area.

“For security reasons we have a set of tyres that Toni doesn’t find suitable for him. We are working hard to allow him to find the best feeling possible, but just like in Phillip Island it will not be easy. Unfortunately with his riding style and his lightweight, these pneumatics don’t seem to best. We will do our best anyway as always to obtain the best position possible on the starting grid.”

“I am not happy at all. It is a difficult situation for me, just like in Phillip Island. The construction of this tyre is really hard and it doesn’t’ work properly for a rider with my physical characteristics. What can we do, it is what we have and with it we will try to do our best. I will try to invent something to obtain a good placement.”

“We had too many problems but compare to this morning we have improve a little. Tomorrow morning I will try a different front tyre that should allow me to have a better feeling and as a consequence it should allow me to push more. Anyway it will not be an easy weekend for us and all team members inside the garage will have to give theirs best.”
