Dani Pedrosa has continued with his recent great form since his return from injury, with a performance that has him topping the opening free practice session at the Motorland circuit with a best lap of 1’50.281.

In second place behind the Spain rider is fellow Spaniard Yamaha Factory’s Jorge Lorenzo who had topped the session with a 1’50.730 with just five minutes to go until before the Repsol Honda rider grabbed the top spot in the final minutes.

Last year’s race winner Casey Stoner had initially set the pace during a session played out under bright sun and climbing temperatures to end the session in third behind the Spanish pair.
