Home hero Dani Pedrosa, who will head for shoulder surgery next week, led the way during a slower second Friday practice session for the Spanish MotoGP at Jerez this afternoon.
An increase in wind and temperatures meant Repsol Honda team-mate Casey Stoner’s morning lap time wasn’t beaten, and Pedrosa had also been quicker in FP1 than FP2, but the Spaniard nevertheless made the best of the conditions to finish 0.188sec ahead of the Australian during the second 45-minute session.
Yamaha’s reigning world champion and 2010 Jerez winner Lorenzo improved from fifth to third this afternoon, 0.522sec from Pedrosa, while Gresini Honda’s Simoncelli was fourth in both sessions.
