Jorge Lorenzo has won his third successive race at the Catalunya MotoGP in Spain.
The Spaniard finished 4.754 seconds ahead of his compatriot Dani Pedrosa on the Honda to complete a Spanish one-two.
Australia’s Casey Stoner finished behind Pedrosa in third.
Lorenzo’s victory follows on from wins in Britain and Netherlands and is the fifth time in seven races the Fiat Yamaha rider has taken the checkered flag this season. CNN
Dovizioso was right on Lorenzo’s tail when he slid off into the gravel with 11 laps to go, leaving the focus to fall on Pedrosa and Stoner’s battle for second place.
The Ducati rider pressured Pedrosa over the last 12 laps but was unable to find a way through.

“Andrea was very fast and I was struggling to open up a little gap but he crashed and I profited from that,” Lorenzo said. “It is a dream for me to win here.”
Pedrosa admitted he had been shaken by his mistake at the start of the race.
“When I went to take the brake, there was no brake and I was really afraid,” he added.
“I pumped and pumped and finally got the brake, but I was out, so I took it slow and tried to recover
“I couldn’t do Lorenzo’s rhythm today, so second is not so bad.” BBC Sport
Ben Spies (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) continued his progress with sixth place on another new circuit, and Loris Capirossi (Rizla Suzuki), Nicky Hayden (Ducati Team), Marco Melandri (San Carlo Honda Gresini Team) – on his return from a dislocated shoulder – and Héctor Barberá (Páginas Amarillas Aspar) all finished inside the top ten, with Dovizioso eventually finishing 14th.
Lorenzo now has 165 points with Pedrosa on 113 in second. Dovizioso remains third and is on 91, with Hayden, De Puniet and Stoner all leapfrogging the absent Valentino Rossi to fill positions four to six. MotoGP
