Randy de Puniet, the top satellite Honda rider in the MotoGP World Championship standings, has confirmed that he will try to ride in this weekend’s Czech Republic Grand Prix at Brno, despite a recent ankle fracture.
The LCR Honda rider had a screw inserted into his left ankle after a motocross accident just under two weeks ago, but believes a rehabilitation programme with the Clinica Mobile will enable him to ride at round eleven. Yahoo! Eurosport
The Frenchman was at motocross training to maintain his fitness in France over the break when he suffered a crash and fractured his left ankle, but a brief surgical intervention and some hard rehabilitation work have seen him recuperate rapidly. The satellite Honda man will therefore be ready to ride again at Brno on Friday, much to the relief of his team and his fans. motogp
“Immediately after the surgery I was discouraged and thought I wouldn’t be able to race in Brno. But thanks to the rehabilitation programme my ankle is improving day by day,” said the Frenchman.
“I can easily move it and I will be fit for the race. Brno is one of my favourite tracks and the good results we gained in the first part of the season give us the confidence and the incentive to keep running at the front.” Bikesportnews
