Team San Carlo Honda Gresini’s two riders confirmed their excellent form in final free practice session at the Laguna Seca circuit.
Shinya Nakano set the third fastest time and reported positive progress with the race setting of his Bridgestone-shod Honda RC212V, whilst Alex De Angelis continued to gather crucial data at what is a completely new circuit for him, stepping up his pace from yesterday to end the sessions seventh fastest.
Shinya Nakano (3rd - 1’22’‘343): “I am happy with this final free practice session – third place overall isn’t bad at all and I’m pleased with my consistency. Despite the cold track temperatures the tyres worked well – we used a medium compound this morning – but this afternoon will be hotter so we’ll be working with a harder compound with a view to the race.”
Alex De Angelis (7th - 1’22’‘833): “I’m satisfied because we’re improving and this morning I managed to lap consistently faster than my best effort from yesterday. In any case the other riders are also making progress so we have to continue working and get maximum performance out of our package. The data we gathered this morning has helped give us a few more ideas.”
