Dani Pedrosa’s presence at next weekend’s Qatar MotoGP season-opener is still uncertain.
The Spaniard, Honda’s only race winner during the 800cc era, required knee and forearm surgery after a nasty highside at the Qatar test on March 2. Pedrosa had undergone surgery on the same (left) knee in December, for injuries sustained on lap one of October’s Australian Grand Prix.
“We don’t know anything yet, we will have to wait until next week to confirm if Dani will go or not to Qatar,” a Repsol Honda spokesman. “He is recovering well, but we have to wait.”
Pedrosa’s new team-mate Andrea Dovizioso was the top Honda rider at the Jerez test, albeit in seventh place, 1.522sec behind Stoner.
