After the fascinating race in Istanbul and the positive results get during Monday’s test, the Team Pramac d’Antin is ready to face next race with the right attitude. The italo-spaniard Team seems to have been left from the opaque period that have accompanied it in the first two races of the Championship; all the Team’s members, that never lost their determination, have now further power to go on to achieve the pre-fixed results.
Both Alex Barros and Alex Hofmann have at their disposal the two days before the race to use all the data got in Istanbul to individualize the best setting for their DUCATI GP7 and for the Bridgestone tires, a combination that showed to be able to do excellent performance. As always, the race week-end will start on Friday 4th May to end on Sunday 6th May with the race, that will take place at 3 0’clock pm, local time.
Alex Barros: “I can’t make any prediction because I run only one time in 2005 at Shanghai’s circuit and I haven’t a lot of data at my disposal. I remember that my performance was good in spite of driving rain. This circuit’s structure is really good and imposing, it’s stimulating to ride there. The real problem is that the track’s too narrow and we’ll have some difficulties to overtake the others, it will be really important to get a good qualifying practice and to start from the lead positions pushing at the maximum in the straight. Our DUCATI GP7 is fast in the straight, but to aim the podium we need also to shorten bend’s time. After Istanbul’s results, I’m more confident; I’m waiting to arrive to Shanghai to analyze the track and find the best possible bike’s set-up. I hope to be able to have another exciting race”.
Alex Hofmann: “In China I hope to be at my 100%, because after my crash in Istanbul I still have strong ache rib. The last week-end I finished a good race, but I know I could be faster. In Shanghai there is the longest straight of the season, for us is a profitable situation and we must take advantage of it to reduce the distance with the other riders and quickly reach the leading group. I can’t wait to run, but there are still some day to the race, I will spend this time to recover my physical force. ”
