James Toseland took a bruising and sprained an ankle in a high-speed crash in which he was thrown high over the top of his Tech3 Yamaha during the final pre-season MotoGP test at Jerez.
The session was stopped and he was taken to the circuit medical centre for treatment before being referred to hospital in Cadiz for a precautionary scan.
The Briton flipped over the handlebars of his Tech 3 Yamaha on the exit of a high-speed left-hander.
Having been given the all-clear by doctors, Toseland returned to the Jerez paddock later on Sunday evening and will fly home to the UK on Monday to rest and recuperate ahead of the season’s opening race under the Losail floodlights on April 12.
“I am obviously delighted that James is going to be fit for the first race after another big crash today,” said team manager Herve Poncharal.
“I’m sure he will be ready and determined to give 100 per cent again in Qatar. All of us can’t wait for the first race.”
