There will still be a wall in the garage of the Yamaha MotoGP team separating defending champion Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo this season.
“During the race weekends, the two teams will be much more independent and not much information can be exchanged between the two teams, Rossi’s team manager, Davide Brivio said.
“Back at the office, the engineers can compare the data and the information but the two teams inside the garage will work more independently from a technical point of view.”
Brivio added that Rossi’s success was also due to the chemistry in the team.
“The same motivation that Valentino has for remaining the number one is transferred to the staff and everybody involved in our group tries to be the best in his job. Our continuous spirit and will to improve is our secret.” Malaysia Star
“Speaking with Yamaha I think Jorge, especially last year and already in 2008, demonstrated great speed and a good attitude to fix and set the bike,” said the 30 year-old. “Now he has been in the team for two years, so everyone agrees that it’s possible for everyone to make their own way.”
Rossi continued: “Also, Jorge wants to work more on the development, so I think it’s right that everyone does his job alone. But at the end it doesn’t change a lot because all the comments between me and Jorge are quite similar, so it’s not a big change.” MotoGP
