Q: Country and Western dancing. The world’s largest honky-tonk is in Fort Worth, and I didn’t know if you’ve ever had the chance to go “cowboy dancing.”?
Helio: Have I been? I don’t remember [going] cowboy dancing, but it didn’t happen on Dancing with the Stars. But I tell you, I really appreciate more a lot of dances, to be honest. People don’t realize that, first, it’s a great exercise. Second, you do the exercise with a lot of fun. And third, it’s a big challenge. If people are up for a challenge, you’ve got to do it. It’s really cool.
Q: You’re from Brazil, and we have some of the top Brazilian bull riders who live in the Fort Worth area. Have you ever been tempted to hop on a bull?
Helio: No. The only bull I remember was in Dancing with the Stars, doing the pasa doble. I had to kill the bull. But let me tell you, where I come from, in my hometown in Brazil, it’s a lot of rich sugar mills and sugar cane. But, also, rodeo is huge there. They’re called Barretos, which is the biggest one in Brazil. They have international people there, and I’ve been there a couple of times. Man, those guys, they have to have a very strong arm and a lot of courage, because you cannot control that animal, I’ll tell you that.

Q: If you were hosting a reality TV show called Racing with the Stars, could you teach the stars to race? Is racing something you can learn, or is it something you have to already have inside you?
Helio: Like myself learning on Dancing with the Stars, I learned in my ability, my potential. I wanted to be able to compete against competitors, for many reasons. Professionally, let’s put it that way. But everybody is able to have a little knowledge of any kind of sport, if you have the right teacher. I don’t know if I can teach, because I don’t know if I’m patient enough. I’d be like, “What are you doing?” For sure, I would try to give as best advice as possible for the person to have fun. And I think that’s the secret for anything.
