2005 Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year Patrick is the latest celebrity to join the multi-faceted National Milk Mustache “got milk?” campaign created in 1995 to promote the health benefits of milk. The poster unveiled May 7 at the Speedway, with Patrick wearing the milk mustache and a black “cat suit,” will be included in the ongoing advertising program.
“It’s what I look like every day,” Patrick said, joking.
The Body By Milk education program, part of the overall “got milk?” campaign, encourages milk consumption for its protein and mix of nutrients, proper eating habits and staying active for optimal health and vitality. Four-time Allstate 400 at the Brickyard winner Jeff Gordon (1997) is the only other race car driver to have appeared in the national campaign.

“To be a part of a successful campaign that’s been around for 14 years is a great honor,” Patrick said. “I had a great time at the (photo) shoot and know all the secrets now about the milk mustache. Indianapolis Motor Speedway
It was a continuation of what is shaping up to be Patrick’s best IndyCar Series season. Through three races, she is tied for fifth in the standings and would be even higher had she not crashed in the season-opening race at St. Petersburg, Fla. Even then, after being victimized by an aggressive passing attempt by rookie Raphael Matos, she held her anger in check.

It just doesn’t really pay off, and it turns people off. It’s a lot easier and a lot more fun to be relaxed. It’s all bunnies and rainbows around here.”

Team co-owner Michael Andretti doesn’t go quite that far but said Patrick’s maturity is showing up on the racetrack in her third season since moving to AGR from Rahal Letterman Racing.
Andretti has become more directly involved in managing Patrick’s race-day demeanor by being her guiding voice on the radio.
