And cheered on by Sun Page 3 beauty Amii, he set a new record for big red buses by lapping in 2mins 59.1secs at an average speed of 32.96mph.
Afterwards, Plato paid tribute to our Ferrari-coloured machine by saying it “handled like a cross-Channel ferry.”
Asked how it compared to his 150mph SEAT racer, he said: “There’s quite a lot more space inside. And my touring car doesn’t come complete with 16 boxes of chicken tikka crisps, various footballs and beach balls, two coffee machines, an air-conditioning unit and enough seats for the whole of my team.”
