It’s not every day that an IndyCar superstar driver happens by for a visit. But shoppers at the Watauga Towne Crossing RadioShack found Danica Patrick in their midst Wednesday.

Patrick, in town for last weekend’s Bombardier LearJet 550k race at Texas Motor Speedway, dropped in for a scheduled appearance at the RadioShack on behalf of her sponsor, Boost Mobile, a unit of Sprint Nextel. Boost Mobile donated $5,000 to Family Pathfinders of Tarrant County — a nonprofit group that helps the poor — in conjunction with the appearance.
Fans lined up outside the store and got a chance to take pictures with and get autographs of Patrick, who finished third in this year’s Indianapolis 500 race. Fort Worth Star Telegram
Danica Patrick heads to Texas Motor Speedway as the only IndyCar Series driver riding a streak of four consecutive top-five finishes.
The streak has come on a diverse set of circuits that makes the IndyCar Series so challenging.
