Kyle Busch is going for a sweep of the three races at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend, and he hurdled his first major obstacle Friday night.
Busch powered into the lead with 50 laps to go, making an aggressive move to the top of the track and shooting past points leader Hornaday’s No. 33 Chevrolet as he secured his fifth consecutive NASCAR Camping World Trucks victory.

Busch has won each of his last five truck races, extending the streak that began at Bristol in August on Friday night when he beat Matt Crafton by 0.725 seconds at the 1 1/2-mile, high-banked Texas track.
Busch has won seven times in 13 starts this season in the No. 51 Toyota, and been outside the top two only three times.
“That’s cool, man. That’s a pretty proud accomplishment,” Busch said. “I’ve wanted to win a truck race here for a long time.”
Crafton, who finished second at Texas in June to Todd Bodine, was in fuel conversation mode the closing laps. By time his crew chief told him to make a run, it was too late to overtake Busch.

“We had to save fuel for so long on that run,” Crafton said. “I didn’t think we could make it all the way.” The Associated Press
Busch, who has won the last three Nationwide races at Texas, will try for the second leg of a possible weekend triple in the O’Reilly Challenge race on Saturday. He’ll start sixth in the race. On Sunday, Busch starts fifth in the Dickies 500 Cup race.
“It would be pretty awesome to get ‘em all three done here at Texas,” Busch said. “I’ve wanted to win a truck race here for a long time, so this is pretty cool, and as soon as I get a Cup win here, another one will get knocked off the list.” NASCAR
