Mike Skinner led all but 20 of the 200 laps, but had just enough fuel to hold off Aric Almirola in a four-lap shootout to the finish to win Saturday’s inaugural Lucas Oil 200 Camping World Truck Series race at Iowa Speedway. Kansas City Star
Skinner pulled away from Aric Almirola on a restart with four laps to go on the .875-mile track, winning by 1.37 seconds, but he did have a few anxious moments.
“The motor died coming off [Turn] 4,” Skinner said. “I don’t know if it was a [fuel] pickup thing or vapor lock or what it did. I think it might have boiled some fuel or something. I just nursed her along there and this thing was so fast through the corner, it didn’t matter what it was doing.”
“It was cool, really, really cool,” Skinner said. “This one is for [owner] Randy Moss. He’s a big race fan and part owner in this team with David Dollar.” NASCAR

Aric Almirola was second in a Toyota and Colin Braun finished third in a Ford. Series leader Ron Hornaday Jr. was fourth after starting 15th.
The second-place finish was a career-best for Almirola.
Hornaday usually excels on short tracks like this one as he began weaving his way through traffic, it looked as though he’d have a chance to win yet again. He stood second midway through the race, but never could make a serious run at Skinner and eventually dropped back.
Skinner’s other victory came on April 27 at Kansas Speedway. His No. 5 truck was the fastest in the final two practice runs and then again in Saturday’s qualifying. The Associated Press
