After Ron Hornaday Jr. celebrated his 51st birthday by winning Saturday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck series race at the Milwaukee Mile, he opted not to do a victory burnout. Tire-smoking celebrations have become commonplace in recent years, but now they’re a luxury his team just can’t afford. Auto Racing Daily

By leading 180 laps, Hornaday surpassed the marks of Kurt Busch, who led 156 in his 2000 victory, and Jack Sprague, who stayed out front for 167 in a second-place effort in 2001.
Mike Skinner was running second before pitting for fuel after the 122nd lap, one lap after Hornaday, and came back for tires on 125. The next lap, Almirola spun on his way to pit road, and suddenly there were only nine trucks on the lead lap. After battling Hornaday early, Skinner ended up 20th.
Third-place Brian Scott, fourth-place James Buescher and fifth-place Todd Bodine all benefited from the timing of their stops. Hornaday, too, described it a just another part of the strategy. Bradenton Herald
