It’s fair to say Ron Hornaday clocked Kyle Busch on Saturday at Martinsville Speedway.

No, Hornaday didn’t knock Busch around the race track during the Kroger 200 Truck Series race at the .526-mile short track.

Instead, he beat Busch to the checkered flag to win for the first time at Martinsville, coincidentally the first time the track’s coveted grandfather clock trophy—in the past the exclusive province of Cup winners—has been awarded in the Truck Series.

The victory was Hornaday’s second of the season and the 47th of his career. NASCAR.com

“This is Martinsville; I won it and I got a grandfather clock,” Hornaday said.

“We just didn’t have quite enough for the two [Kevin Harvick Inc.] trucks, but we gave it all we had,” Busch said. “The truck was good, but we just didn’t have quite enough turn there at the end.”

Bodine, the current points leader, finished third in what was an emotional race for the 46-year-old driver.

Jason White and Aric Almirola rounded out the top-five. Bodine holds a comfortable 282-point advantage over Almirola with four races remaining. MiamiHerald.com
