Colin Braun became a first-time race winner in the Camping World Truck Series by taking Saturday’s Michigan 200 at Michigan International Speedway.

Braun, in his No.6 Roush Fenway Racing Ford, moved around Kyle Busch for the lead with 24 laps to go and then held it for his first win in his 35th start. He also gave team owner Jack Roush his 50th victory in NASCAR’s third-tier series. MiamiHerald.com

“What an awesome truck—you poured your hearts into this,” Braun told his crew, then turned his attention to the owner. “Thanks, Jack. Thanks for sticking with me.”

“It was cool to beat Kyle, and it was also cool to beat Toyota here,” Braun said, noting the proximity of MIS to Detroit, the home of the American auto industry.

Pole-sitter Brian Ickler finished third in his fifth start in the series, his best result to date. Matt Crafton ran fourth and extended his lead in the series standings to 39 points in front of seventh-place finisher Ron Hornaday, who survived a Lap 28 accident that also involved Stacy Compton and Chad McCumbee.
