A heavy afternoon thunderstorm drenched the concrete racing surface at Dover International Speedway and forced postponement of Friday’s scheduled AAA Insurance 200 Camping World Truck Series race until 6 p.m. ET Saturday. NASCAR.com
Friday’s race was washed out after about 40 minutes. It was rescheduled for Saturday after the Nationwide Series race.
Ron Hornaday Jr. won the pole in qualifying. He ran a lap of 155.541 mph for his 21st pole in 232 career trucks races. He earned his second pole of the season. The Associated Press
The weather forecast for the Dover area looks much better for tomorrow evening with mostly clear skies. The Nationwide Series will run their 200-mile race at Dover tomorrow afternoon.
Dover is the second truck event to be postponed this year. Persistent rain at Martinsville earlier this season forced the 250-lap event there to be delayed one day. Kansas City Star
