Kevin Harvick made it look “E-Z”.
Harvick was the class of the field Saturday, piloting his No. 2 E-Z-GO Chevrolet to the win in the E-Z-GO 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
“When you have the sponsor on your truck and they sponsor the race too, that makes life good,” Harvick said. “We just had a great truck. We didn’t make a whole lot of changes on the truck all weekend.”
Almost none, in fact. It was a brand new truck that Harvick took to immediately. He qualified fourth, made one adjustment during the race and led 100 laps en route to his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win at Atlanta Motor Speedway, his tenth career truck win.
“(We) took three-tenths of air out of the right rear on our first stop and never touched it again,” crew chief Ernie Cope said.
With the Camping World Truck Series win, Harvick has now completed the trifecta at Atlanta, having won in all three series: trucks, Nationwide and Sprint Cup.
Kyle Busch, the winner four of the last five truck races in Atlanta, finished second for his newly formed Kyle Busch Motorsports team.
“It was a true test of what this team will do this year; this was a start for us,” Busch said. “We had a really good truck. Not quite as fast as we would have like to have been. We’re a young team, and this was good to come out of the box here and run strong.”
Aric Almirola was third, Steve Wallace was fourth in his Camping World Truck Series debut and Todd Bodine finished fifth.
Georgia drivers Ryan Seig (Tucker), Brett Butler (Lilburn) and Shane Seig (Tucker) finished 18th, 23rd and 28th respectively.
