Since making its debut at the ACDelco Gatornationals in March, the ACDelco “Pros Who Know Tour” display has become a well-recognized fixture on the manufacturers’ midway at NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series events. Featuring a unique combination of static and interactive exhibits, it has entertained fans across the country, testing their starting-line ability on a full-scale starting line “Christmas Tree” or illustrating the inner workings of their passenger vehicles with three engaging, hands-on exhibits.
In addition, on-site representatives reward those who participate with a gift, as well as providing information on ACDelco’s exciting “Drive to Win” Sweepstakes, which offers numerous instant prizes, as well as the opportunity to win the sleek, one-of-a-kind Chevrolet Cobalt SS that is also part of this traveling display.
However, this weekend, ACDelco will look to literally sweeten the deal. Beginning with this weekend’s ProCare Rx Supernationals in Englishtown, NJ, fans visiting the ACDelco midway display will able to obtain a new and unique item - collectible mint tins in the shape of Kurt Johnson’s ACDelco Cobalt race car (pictured). Having seen the miniature replicas of his race-winning vehicle, the second-generation racer is confident they will be a big hit.
“I think it’s awesome that ACDelco is tying their promotion into the racing program, first with the ‘Drive To Win’ sweepstakes, and now with the collectible mint tins, which are a really cool giveaway, ” said Johnson. “I had a chance to see the mini ACDelco Cobalts in Chicago, and was impressed with the level of detail they put into them. On top of that, the mints are really good. I’m not sure how many they made, but I’m guessing they’ll be going fast – just like their namesake. ”
