Wimmer crossed the finish line 0.578 seconds ahead of Clint Bowyer. It was Wimmer’s first victory in 58 races and the sixth of his Nationwide career. His last won in July 2003.
Wimmer made the winning move with 20 laps to go while both he and Bowyer were trying to conserve fuel. From there it was just a matter of keeping the engine running.
“I can’t believe its been that long,” Wimmer said.

Scott Wimmer doesn’t drive in NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Series.
He doesn’t even drive the complete Nationwide Series schedule.
A NASCAR-estimated crowd of 34,500 at the Nashville Superspeedway witnessed Wimmer’s win, which broke his drought of 57 races without a victory.
Wimmer is the first Nationwide-only driver to win a Nationwide event this season in six races.
