Keselowski & Carmichael Upcoming NASCAR Races at Nashville Superspeedway - Preview

NASCAR Nationwide Series and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Brad Keselowski and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Ricky Carmichael visited the Country Music Hall of Fame today as special guests during Nashville Superspeedway’s annual media luncheon season kickoff. The two drivers, both named Most Popular Driver of their respective series in 2009, discussed their seasons to date and previewed the upcoming April 2-3, 2010 NASCAR doubleheader race weekend in Nashville.

Keselowski, driver of the No. 22 Discount Tire/Ruby Tuesday Dodge in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, is one of several “double duty” NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers scheduled to race in Nashville on April 3. The full-time double duty racer won his first NASCAR race at Nashville in 2008, and has traditionally run well on the concrete track.

“I already have one guitar,” said Keselowski. “One is great. Two would be better.”

Keselowski also announced at that he will be entering the Friday, April 2 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event in Nashville in the No. 29 entry from Brad Keselowski Racing.

“It will be fun running in both series, and I am looking to get my first win with Penkse Racing’s NASCAR Nationwide Series program,” he said.

Carmichael, driver of the No. 4 Monster Energy Chevrolet, is currently in his first full-time season in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and is excited about his first visit to Nashville Superspeedway.

“I’ve never been to the track before, this will be my first time,” said Carmichael. “But it looks like a cool track in a cool city. I have a good attitude going in to it, and Nashville is a place where I have a good fan base. I hope I can run well in front of them. I really like concrete tracks, like Dover. It’s a change of pace and something different.”

Following lunch, renowned NASCAR artist Sam Bass unveiled Nashville Superspeedway’s special 10th anniversary logo. The logo includes the track’s traditional logo surrounded by the words “Celebrating 10 Years.” It will be featured on most souvenir merchandise and printed materials at the track this season.

“We’re proud to celebrate our 10th anniversary at Nashville Superspeedway,” said Cliff Hawks, vice president and general manager of Nashville Superspeedway. “It’s been our goal to make Nashville one of the most fan friendly venues in the sport and the racing is always competitive. Sam Bass has created a colorful logo that will commemorate the track’s special anniversary in style, and we can’t wait to drop the green flag this April.”

NASCAR comes to Nashville Superspeedway on April 2-3, 2010 with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the NASCAR Nationwide Series. The NASCAR Nationwide Series returns to Nashville again this season on June 4-5, 2010 for the “Federated Auto Parts 300,” followed by a second stop in Nashville for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series on Aug. 7, 2010.
