Kyle Busch won his fourth consecutive Nationwide Series race at Texas Motor Speedway with a flawless performance in Saturday’s O’Reilly Challenge.
Busch started sixth, but blew by pole sitter Matt Kenseth for the lead after 10 laps. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver then led 179 laps in the 200-lap race to claim his series-high eighth victory of the season and the 29th of his career.
Busch is now two-for-two this weekend at Texas. He bumped Ron Hornaday Jr. out of the way for the lead with less than 50 laps to go, and then held off a hard-charging Matt Crafton at the finish to win Friday’s truck race here. Busch will attempt to become the first driver to win all three of NASCAR’s national touring races on the same weekend. Crew chief Dave Rogers will make his first start with Busch in Sunday’s 500-mile Sprint Cup Series race. MiamiHerald.com
“We’re going to make it three tomorrow,” Busch said.
Busch is 0-for-9 in Sprint Cup races at Texas, where finished 18th in April.
This is the 28th time in his career Busch has run all three series the same weekend. This is the seventh time this year and twice he won two races — at California in February and Bristol in August — without being able to get the third. In California, he won the Camping World Truck Series and the Nationwide races before finishing third in Sprint Cup. The Associated Press
“The car wasn’t bad in practice today,” Busch said. “We’ve got a fifth- to 10th-place car right now. If we can make some adjustments to be a contender, and if you’re a contender at the end of the race you never know. We could come out of here 3 for 3. That would be pretty special.”

Casey Mears finished second, giving him his first top 10 finish this season and third in his last five races at TMS.
Jason Leffler claimed third, good for is fourth top 10 finish in 11 TMS races.
“If we ran second to them every week we could worry about beating them,” Leffler said of Busch. “Over the off-season we’ll prepare better and keep working on trying to beat those guys. You can tell this year they’re pretty dominant.” Fort Worth Star Telegram
