Joey Logano cruised past Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Kyle Busch with 10 laps to go and held on to win Kentucky Speedway’s Nationwide Series race for the second consecutive year Saturday night.
Last year in the Meijer 300, Logano became the youngest winner in a Nationwide event. This time, he made history as the first repeat winner in the track’s signature NASCAR race.
Logano made the move past his Joe Gibbs teammate shortly after a red flag delayed the race for nearly nine minutes to clean debris off the track. The Associated Press
“This place just fits me, I just like it,” Logano said. “We’re fast every time we come around here.”
Logano recorded his second victory of the season and the third of his Nationwide career.

“It always happens that way, we always lose at the end,” a disgusted Busch said. “It’s another one-two finish (for Gibbs). Joey is just better than we are at these places. Congratulations to him, he learned from Mark Martin to save his stuff and kind of snooker people into not adjusting on their race cars.”
Earlier this year, Logano passed Busch with 10 laps remaining to win the 300- mile race at Nashville.

“The last two races that I’ve won have been a one-two like that,” Logano added. Kansas City Star
NASCAR issued 27 pit-road speeding penalties during the race, including one to Logano on Lap 71. Logano had come out of the pits second but restarted 15th on Lap 74.
Logano’s No. 20 Toyota was strong, and he easily moved through the field, getting to second place with 93 laps to go. After a caution and red flag with 15 laps remaining, Logano closed in on Busch after the restart and slipped under him heading into Turn 3 on Lap 190.
Busch finished second, with Brad Keselowski third, Brendan Gaughan fourth and Justin Allgaier fifth.
Sixth through 10th were Jason Leffler, Michael Annett, Burney Lamar, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Kelly Bires. NASCAR.com
