It was quite a night for Kyle Busch, but like he’s done so many times before, he rallied to pass for the lead in the closing laps and won Friday night’s Bashas’ Supermarkets 200 at Phoenix International Raceway.
Busch was penalized and started 10th in the race’s final restart, but he made his way to the front with just five laps to go and held off Kevin Harvick for his second NASCAR Nationwide Series win at PIR. AHN
Keselowski wound up third and took a four-point lead over Carl Edwards, who finished sixth. Busch moved to within 15 points of the lead.
“There was action everywhere,” Keselowski said. “I had a shot at winning the race, and I kind of had Kyle upset in the car it looked like. He started making mistakes on restarts, and I was able to take advantage of that.”
Brendan Gaughan and Greg Biffle, the defending race winner, rounded out the top-five.
Paul Menard finished seventh, followed by Nationwide regulars Scott Lagasse Jr. and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
Logano ended up finishing 10th. MiamiHerald.com
