With cars spinning wildly behind him in Turn 4, Clint Bowyer claimed his first Nationwide Series victory of the season and the seventh of his career in Friday night’s Subway Jalapeno 250 at Daytona International Speedway.

Bowyer also delivered the first victory of the season for beleaguered Richard Childress Racing, which has suffered cutbacks from Chevrolet in the wake of General Motors’ reorganization under bankruptcy. NASCAR.com

“These guys never give up, the guys at RCR and the ladies,” Childress said. “They just dig and dig. We’ve been a little bit off, and when you get a little bit off, everybody wants to kind of kick you. We just take that lick and come on back.”

Busch finished second, followed by Edwards, Joey Logano and Kasey Kahne.

“At RCR, things haven’t been the best this year and you need something,” Bowyer said. “You’re always looking for that little thing, and hopefully this victory will give everyone a pep in their step and some excitement.” The Associated Press

Yes, I just called @jim_utter intrepid, b/c he's a damn good reporter. Even if he's wrong. Hehe. I'm kidding. I like Jim. I like everybody!

@davekallmann You've seen me, I'd be the first to go down. I'm no match for Utter's choke holds.

@nateryan That sport coat is too restrictive. Get yourself some tights. Have Monte train you. You'll be ready at homestead.
