Brad Keselowski was in a class all by himself during Saturday’s Kansas Lottery 300 Nationwide Series race at Kansas Speedway.

Keselowski, the 2010 Nationwide champion, led 173 of 200 laps en route to his fourth win of the season and the 16th of his career in the series. His only mishap in the 300-mile race occurred just before the halfway point when he stalled his car on pit road during a caution. After restarting in 14th, Keselowski quickly charged to the front and grabbed the lead again within five laps.

Carl Edwards held the top spot after a late-race round of pit stops, but Keselowski passed his fellow Sprint Cup Series competitor for the lead with 14 laps remaining. He crossed the finish line 2.8 seconds ahead of Edwards.  MiamiHerald.com

“Our car was phenomenal, an absolutely phenomenal race car,’’ Keselowski said. “It was one of those races that you’re trying to figure out what to do not to lose it, which is certainly a blessing to have one of those days. But it can actually be one of the tougher days in the car because you know the heat’s on you as the driver.’’

The win was Keselowski’s first in the Nationwide Series at Kansas but his second straight at the track, following a Sprint Cup Series victory in June.

He has won four times this season and 16 times in his career in the Nationwide Series.

Elliott Sadler finished third Saturday and closed to within 20 points of Ricky Stenhouse Jr. with four races remaining. Topeka Capital Journal
