Kyle Busch has positioned himself well in an attempt to capture his third consecutive Nationwide Series victory at Texas Motor Speedway after winning Thursday’s qualifying for the O’Reilly 300.
“It would be nice to win here on Saturday and make it three in a row and also to make it where now a pole sitter has won here,” Busch said.
“Kyle is just this incredible talent,” Gordon said last week at Martinsville. “He can put a car on the edge like nobody I’ve ever seen. The difference is that up until maybe this year, I really seem him maturing so much over the last couple of years. But up until this year, he was a guy that he would put it so far on the edge that he was making mistakes.”
Busch, who already has a Nationwide win this year and two win in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, is still trying to find his comfort level in the new car. The lack of testing in the off-season left his team with unresolved questions following its Chase struggles last year.
