NASCAR has announced that this weekend’s NASCAR Sprint Cup and NASCAR Nationwide races are being postponed until Sunday due to weather.
The Sprint Cup race is scheduled to start at 1:00pm with the Nationwide event set for 7:00pm US Eastern (9:00am Monday 8 September 2008 Australian Eastern Standard Time).
Marcos Ambrose will start the Emerson Radio 250 Nationwide Series race from 16th position, with the starting order set by 2008 Owner’s Points.
In the sole Nationwide practice session held before rain set in, Ambrose was 15th fastest in the #59 Kingsford Ford Fusion of JTG Daugherty Racing.
Joey Logano will start the Emerson Radio 250 from pole ahead of Clint Bowyer, who leads the 2008 Nationwide Series Driver’s Standings after 27 of 35 races.
