MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Dale Earnhardt Inc. driver Martin Truex Jr. hopes that a return to New Hampshire Motor Speedway, a track that he describes as one of his favorites, will bring the consistency that he and his team have been looking for.

“We’ve always been good at Loudon so it’s definitely a race that we mark on our calendars,” said Truex, who has two top-five finishes in four Sprint Cup starts at the 1.058-mile track.

“I’m not one to make predictions, but I like our chances on Sunday,” continued the driver of the No. 1 Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Boats Chevrolet. “We’ve led some laps and gotten some great finishes on the Cup side and we’ve won a Nationwide Series race there (2005).”

The Loudon race is also somewhat of a homecoming for several members of Truex’s team.

“Bono (crew chief Kevin Manion) and a bunch of the guys on the team are from the area, so they enjoy coming back to Loudon,” Truex said. “He and some of the guys built a modified car and they’re going to be racing it Saturday with Kyle Busch behind the wheel. Plus, they always try to catch a Red Sox game while they’re up there.

“This race for them is kind of like what the Dover race is to me – a chance to see a lot of family members and catch up with some old friends. It makes the whole weekend less stressful when you’ve got so many people around that you’ve known for a long time and are there to support you.”
