Marcos Ambrose put on a dominating performance to win the Zippo 200 Nationwide Series race at Watkins Glen International for the third year in a row.

Ambrose, the pole sitter, led 60 of 82 laps around the 2.45-mile road course and easily held off Joey Logano at the finish by 2.8 seconds for the win on Saturday. The 33-year-old Australian joined Terry Labonte as the only drivers to win three consecutive Nationwide races at Watkins Glen. Labonte accomplished the feat here from 1994-96. MiamiHerald.com

Kevin Harvick finished third, followed by series points leader Brad Keselowski and Busch. Ron Fellows, Nelson Piquet Jr., Jacques Villeneuve, Steve Wallace and Michael McDowell completed the top 10.

“It was a wonderful day for us,” said Ambrose, who has not announced plans for next year, though the rumor mill says he’s likely to land in a Sprint Cup ride at Richard Petty Motorsports. “We’ve had our troubles at JTG this year, and we’re parting ways at the end of the season, and this is a really fitting way to finish this thing off.”

“I was pretty pumped out about how the car ran today,” Logano said. “Road courses and me never got along before. It’s cool to see yourself improve every time you get to a place like this.” NASCAR.com
