Even when he doesn’t get any practice, Kyle Busch still wins in the Nationwide Series.
Busch won his ninth Nationwide race of 2010, his sixth in his past seven starts and 39th of his career by dominating the U.S. Cellular 250 in front of 55,988 fans at Iowa Speedway.
Busch missed Saturday morning’s rain-delayed practice, making it to Iowa in time for qualifying. In his first laps in the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, he earned the second position. Brad Coleman practiced Busch’s car. NASCAR.com
“It’s pretty phenomenal the race cars these guys put out,” Busch said. “This is my 54th win in a Toyota.”
After a round of pits stops during a late-race caution, Busch took on four tires, while Kevin Harvick put on just two new tires and captured the lead. Busch held the sixth spot for the final restart, but quickly charged through the field and then passed Harvick to take the lead for good with 25 laps remaining.
“I didn’t think we had it, because it was the same car and the same feel we had last year,” Busch added. “I was thinking, ‘it’s just not coming off the corner the way I needed it to.’ But we were able to dial it in and get it to where we needed it.” MiamiHerald.com
Harvick held on to take second in his Kevin Harvick Inc. Chevrolet, followed by Jason Leffler’s Braun Racing Toyota. NNS points leader Brad Keselowski and 19-year-old Trevor Bayne completed the top five.

Busch moved a victory away from the series season victory record of 10 he shares with Sam Ard. Busch, a 10-time winner in 2008, is second in series history with 39 victories — nine behind Mark Martin’s record.
With Sunday’s race at Pocono nearly 1,000 miles away from Iowa, only eight drivers are doing double-duty this weekend. That gave hope to many of the Nationwide-only drivers that they could snap a 16-race winless streak dating to Justin Allgaier’s win at Bristol in March.
Alas, that stretch is now at 17 races. Leffler’s third-place finish was tops among Nationwide-only drivers. The Associated Press
