Kyle Busch is finding it a little hard to adjust to being out of the spotlight after spending the regular season dominating NASCAR’s Sprint Cup series.
After starting the Chase with finishes of 34th, 43rd and 28th, Busch was all but eliminated from contention. Heading into Texas this weekend, he is last in the 12-man Chase, a whopping 465 points behind leader Jimmie Johnson.
“It’s frustrating to have to come to the racetrack every week and not have a shot for a championship,” he said. “It is what it is and we’ll have to go back at it next year.”
“We’re not running well at all,” he said. “We can’t get through a race without having a problem. So, I wish we would have seen this in the beginning of the year and had growing pains instead of running so well and having the issues that we’re having now.
“I’m just looking forward to a fresh start of a new year again,” he said.
