The Home Depot Team Notes of Interest
· Joey Logano will be making his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debut at Auto Club Speedway this weekend. The 18-year-old has competed in one NASCAR Nationwide race at the 2-mile track, racing last fall in a Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota. He started from the third position and completed all 150 laps to finish sixth.
· The Home Depot Racing Team and crew chief Greg Zipadelli are no strangers to Auto Club Speedway. The team has competed in 15 races at the track with an average start of 15th and an average finish of 16th. Zipadelli and the crew have finishes fourth twice; their best finish at the California track.
· Logano who made his Daytona 500 debut last weekend finished 43rd after an incident at lap 79 took him out of the race.
· Logano will again be competing in two races this weekend at Auto Club Speedway. In addition to his duties driving The Home Depot Toyota in the Sprint Cup Series, he will drive the No. 20 Nationwide Toyota on Saturday.

Expectations for the weekend
“I can’t go into the weekends thinking about expectations. I know I have a lot to learn at these tracks so I need to focus on doing the best that I can. Right now I need to continue to work with the team and build our communication so they know what I mean when I say the car is loose or tight. We didn’t have the finish we wanted last weekend, but as a team we learned a lot about each other and got to know each other better, especially Zippy (crew chief Zipadelli) and I. That was not only important but critical for us. I had the opportunity to run the Nationwide race last year, so I have some laps on the track. That should help a little going into this weekend.”
About his teammates
“I can’t say enough about Kyle (Busch) and Denny (Hamlin). They were huge assets to me and the entire Home Depot Team in Daytona. I leaned on them a lot. They both understand where I’m coming from because it wasn’t that long ago that they were in a similar situation. I can’t thank them enough and I know they will be here for me all season. Their advice and experience is priceless to me. The one great thing about NASCAR is that all the drivers are so helpful. I don’t think there was a driver in the garage that I talked to that wasn’t willing to help me out.”
