Budweiser Racing Team Notes of Interest
· This weekend will mark Kasey Kahne’s 11th career start at Lowe’s Motor Speedway (LMS).
· Lowe’s Motor Speedway is the only track where Kahne is a repeat winner.
· In 10 starts at LMS, Kahne has scored three outside poles and led 616 laps.

· Kahne has scored five career victories at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, winning the 2008 All-Star Race, 2006 and 2008 Coca-Cola 600, 2006 Bank of America 500 and one Nationwide Series win.
· Kahne has an average start of 11th and an average finish of 13th at the 1.5-mile speedway.
· Kahne sits in 16th, 66 points outside the coveted 12th place position in the NASCAR championship driver point standings.

What does it take to be successful at LMS?
“One of the biggest things for me (at Lowe’s) is that you have to be able to run anywhere on the race track. Your car has to turn really good at certain areas on the track and the front-end has to be in the track. Last year in the October race, the back-end of my car was so far out of the track that the front was still really positive in those areas that I wanted it to be and that really benefited us. We ran second and were pretty darn close to Jeff Burton (race winner). I would say the biggest things is having your front-end really positive at certain load spots on the race track.”
With the 600 being the longest race of the year, is there anything special that you do to prepare?
“This is definitely one of the toughest races on the driver both mentally and physically. We didn’t have the success that we were looking for early on in the All-Star Race so we were able to turn it into a test session. We found out what did and didn’t work and hopefully we can apply that to this weekend’s race.”

Does your success at LMS give you a little more confidence going into this weekend?
“When you’ve been successful at a track like we have here at Lowe’s, you gain a sense of confidence because you understand where to be successful on the racetrack. You still need a good car, but confidence does give you a sense of comfort inside of the racecar.”
