Q: What is it that you like about Atlanta?
Kasey Kahne: “Atlanta is one of my favorite race tracks. It’s a fast track and it’s wide enough so there are multiple grooves for racing. I like the fact that it lets the driver figure out where the car is handling best. It makes it a little more challenging but it’s also a lot of fun.”
Q: Talk about the multiple grooves at AMS.
Kasey Kahne: “Your car may be good on the bottom early in the race, but as the track changes the car may work better up top. It’s important to move around to make sure you are running the quickest line. A line that didn’t work early may be the right line later in the race. Just because another driver is having success with one line doesn’t mean the setup you have in your car will automatically produce the same kind of results.”
Q: Talk about the past two races and how your team has made significant improvements from the start of the race to the finish?
Kasey Kahne: “The guys have done a great job so far getting the best finish while trying to make the least amount of mistakes to get the best results. The past two weekend’s we haven’t started out that great in the race, but Kenny (Francis) keeps adjusting and we keep making changes in the right direction to get the car better and Las Vegas was a perfect example of that.”

· This weekend will mark Kasey Kahne’s 11th career start at Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS).
· Kahne scored a win at Atlanta during the spring race in 2006 after starting from the pole. He led 85 laps en route to the win.
· Kahne has four top-five and five top-10 finishes at the 1.5-mile speedway.
· Kahne has an average start of 10th and an average finish of 20th at AMS.
· Kahne is currently 13th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver point standings. He trails 12th-place Michael Waltrip by eight points.
· Prior to the Kobalt Tools 500, Kahne, with the support of Budweiser and country music star Dierks Bentley, are teaming up to present the “Sound Check 9” music concert on Thursday, March 5 in Duluth, Ga. to benefit the Kasey Kahne Foundation.
