Kevin Harvick took the No. 29 Shell-Pennzoil Impala to victory lane in the Budweiser Shootout for the second consecutive year. Starting on the outside of the front row, Harvick led five times for a total of 21 of the 76 laps. He became only the fourth driver to win back-to-back Shootouts.
The race ended under caution one lap beyond the scheduled distance when a multi-car accident occurred in turn three on the one-time green-white-checkered attempt to finish the race.
Chevrolet has won 19 of the 32 Shootouts, more than any other manufacturer.
Jamie McMurray, No. 1 Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Boats Impala, finished third in his first race a member of Team Chevy. He led twice for a total of two laps.
Five of the top-10 finishers were behind the wheel of Chevrolet Impala race cars. Jeff Gordon, No. 24 DuPont Impala, finished sixth.
Tony Stewart, No. 14 Old Spice/Office Depot Impala and Juan Pablo Montoya, No. 42 Target Impala, finished ninth and 10th respectively. Stewart led twice for a total of six laps.
Kasey Kahne (Ford), Kyle Busch (Toyota) and Denny Hamlin (Toyota) completed the top-five finishers in the non-points race.
