Kyle Busch continues to master the Richmond International Raceway during the spring time.
Busch conserved enough fuel and easily held off teammate Denny Hamlin in the closing laps of Saturday’s Crown Royal 400 to win the spring race at Richmond for the third straight year.

“We love coming to Richmond for some reason,” Busch said. “It seems to run well for us. We like coming to this place. The fans are great. We always tend to have good race cars here.”
“It was important to save fuel there under the cautions,” Busch said. “Fortunately we had that long caution flag. That probably saved us. If we didn’t have that, most likely we would have went to the end but probably come up a little bit short. Just thankfully it played out the way that it played out and I saved just enough.”
Kasey Kahne was third, giving Toyota the 1-2-3 finish, followed by David Ragan and Carl Edwards. Kahne was pleased with his result. Fox Sports
After running without a yellow the first 107 laps, the second half of the 400-lap race featured plenty of action. Juan Pablo Montoya intentionally spun Ryan Newman in Turn 3 for a Lap 238 caution that triggered a flurry of six yellows in 76 laps
A nine-car crash collected contenders Jeff Gordon, Matt Kenseth and Mark Martin and Clint Bowyer. Gordon had the wind knocked out of him after the driver’s side of his No. 24 Chevrolet slammed into the inside wall. It was reminiscent of a hard crash in 2008 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway when the four-time champion also hit a patch of concrete not protected by a SAFER barrier.
“I seem to find the worst angles for hitting walls,” the four-time champion said. “I wish there was a SAFER barrier there. I seem to be able to find the ones without the SAFER barrier.” USA Today
