Matt Kenseth ended a 76-race winless streak Saturday night, dominating the Samsung Mobile 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.
The 2003 NASCAR champion led a race-high 169 laps for the 19th victory of his Sprint Cup career and first since opening the 2009 season with back-to-back victories.
He won at Texas for the first time in 2002.
Bowyer finished second, while Kenseth’s Roush Fenway Racing teammates Carl Edwards and Greg Biffle placed third and fourth, respectively.
Paul Menard completed the top-five.
“After over two years, I didn’t know if I’d get a chance to get here again,” Kenseth said in Victory Lane.
“It has been a long time,” Kenseth said. “I have lost a lot of close ones at this track. It feels good to be able to close it out.”
