Restarting second thanks to a two-tire call on a Lap 140 pit stop, Jamie McMurray powered his No. 1 Earnhardt Ganassi Racing Chevrolet past Kevin Harvick’s No. 29 Chevy on a restart with 11 laps left and pulled away to beat Harvick to the finish line by 1.391 seconds at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

McMurray started fourth in the 160-lap/400-mile race and ran solidly in the top-five for the majority of the race. He led twice for a total of 16 laps, the final time for the last 11 laps.

Kevin Harvick, No. 29 Shell-Pennzoil Chevrolet, finished second to extend his points lead to 184 points with six races remaining before the start of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

Greg Biffle finished third, while Clint Bowyer and Tony Stewart rounded out the top-five.

Four-time defending NSCS champion Jimmie Johnson, No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet, also suffered handling woes and crossed the finish line in 22nd place.  Johnson is now fourth in the points order followed by Denny Hamlin.
