Kyle Busch wasn’t going for a weekend sweep, he wasn’t trying to make any statements and he isn’t ready to say he’s a lock for the Chase.

But he won the Crown Royal Presents The Matthew & Daniel Hansen 400 going away on Saturday night after leading 235 of the 400 laps, thanks in part to some inside information from second-place finisher and teammate Denny Hamlin.

Kasey Kahne finished third to make it a 1-2-3 race for Toyota.

Carl Edwards wasn’t in the hunt for the win Saturday night, but his fifth-place finish did allow him to remain the series points leader yet another week.

He holds a nine-point lead over second-place Jimmie Johnson.

“We are still leading the points, and we have stretched it out a little bit, which is great,” Edwards said. “I think that feeling of fifth here will be replaced with the points lead feeling in a little bit, and that will feel better.”  News & Observer

Busch gained three spots to third, 30 behind Edwards.
