Jimmie Johnson, No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet, checked another item off of his to-do list by capturing his career-first road course win in the Save Mart 350 at Infineon Raceway.  The four-time defending champion started second in the 43-car field and led 55 of the 110 laps in claiming victory number four of the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) season.

In claiming his 51st win, Johnson jumped to second in the standings with 16 races in the books and 10 remaining until the start of the Chase.

Kevin Harvick, No. 29 Shell-Pennzoil Chevrolet, extended his lead in the point standings to 140 points, the largest of the season, with his third-place finish in the 350K/110-lap/218.9-mile race. 

Jeff Gordon, No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet, finished fifth to give Team Chevy three of the top-five finishers in today’s race.  The four-time NSCS champion moved up two spots in the standings to fifth.

Tony Stewart, No. 14 Office Depot/Old Spice Chevrolet finished ninth followed by Juan Pablo Montoya, No. 42 Target Chevrolet in the 10th finishing position to give Team Chevy five of the top-10 finishers.  Stewart moved to 10th in points while Montoya remains 20th in the standings.
