Terry Labonte will attempt to qualify for the Daytona 500 in a Toyota fielded by Prism Motorsports, the newly formed team announced on Tuesday.
The two-time Winston Cup series champion will drive for the team, which is co-owned by former NASCAR driver Phil Parsons and Randy Humphrey, before giving up the seat to Dave Blaney on a permanent basis.
Humphrey said the new team plans to compete in the full Cup schedule in 2009, and has formed a technical alliance with Michael Waltrip Racing.
