Cindy McCain To Grand Marshall NASCAR Bank Of America 500 At Lowe's Motor Speedway

The wife of Republican presidential candidate John McCain will be the honorary race director at the NASCAR Bank of America 500.

McCain’s campaign said Friday that Cindy McCain will participate in the Saturday evening event at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord. It’s the first time she or her husband have made a public appearance in North Carolina since the May primary.

Cindy and John McCain last hit up a NASCAR track in mid-September, when they chatted with racing stars and fans at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. McCain won New Hampshire in the GOP primary, but polls show Barack Obama now well ahead in the state.

Cindy McCain is not only an avid motorsports fan but also an amateur drift-racer. Cindy and son John have even competed in amateur drift competitions in the U. S. as a mother-son tandem, finishing as high as second place.
