Antron Brown complete a sweep of the NHRA’s Western swing, racing to a victory in Top Fuel on Sunday at the Fram Autolite NHRA Nationals at Infineon Raceway.

Brown, who won at Denver and Seattle the last two weeks, drove his dragster to the win over Cory McClenathan in the final. Brown posted a 3.990-second run at a top speed of 299.06 mph to finish just ahead of McClenathan, who clocked a 4.002 at 290.82 in his dragster.

He’s the seventh driver in NHRA history to sweep the Western swing. His fifth win of the season increased his series lead to 199 points over Tony Schumacher.

“It’s great to be a part of history by sweeping the Swing,” Brown said. “I am blessed to be a part of it and join the list of names who have accomplished this in the past.” USA Today

Brown, the No. 4 qualifier, opening eliminations with a 3.90 win over Troy Buff and then stopped Joe Hartley and low qualifier J.R. Todd before downing McClenathan in the money round. Brown now has a commanding 199-point lead over defending champ Tony Schumacher in the Full Throttle standings.

Tim Wilkerson, Jason Line and Andrew Hines also logged wins at the 22nd annual Fram Autolite Nationals at Infineon Raceway.

After struggling through the first half of the season, Wilkerson has returned to form with back-to-back wins in Seattle and Sonoma. In a rematch of the Seattle final seven days ago, the popular Levi, Ray & Shoup Ford driver got the best of Tony Pedregon once again to claim his 13th career nitro Funny Car title. Pedregon, appearing in his sixth final of the season, gained an early advantage, but both drivers began to lose traction and Wilkerson drove by for a 4.24 to 4.32 victory.

“We had a great car today,” said Wilkerson. “Heck, we had a good car in Denver but I made a really bad tuning call in the first round. To win Seattle and then come to the next race and back it up with another win is great.”

The 12th all-Summit Pro Stock final went to Line, who won his fourth race of the season. Line, who celebrated his 40th birthday on Friday, celebrated his 19th career Pro Stock title on Sunday with a 6.939 to 6.932 holeshot win over Anderson, who is still seeking his first 2009 victory. NHRA
